    Location: The office is based in Blackburn, however remote working is considered.

    Job Overview:

    We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented SAP Assessor to join our team. As a SAP Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting assessments and producing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for residential properties using the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP). Your role will involve analysing building specifications, energy systems, and insulation levels to determine the energy efficiency rating of buildings. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of SAP methodology, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate energy efficiency recommendations to clients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform SAP assessments for residential properties, ensuring compliance with building regulations and energy efficiency standards.
    • Collect and review building specifications, including construction materials, insulation levels, heating systems, and renewable energy installations.
    • Use SAP software to input data, calculate energy performance ratings, and generate Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for properties.
    • Analyse energy usage patterns, heating controls, and ventilation systems to identify potential energy-saving opportunities.
    • Provide recommendations to homeowners, builders, and developers on energy-efficient measures and cost-effective improvements.
    • Stay up to date with current regulations, guidelines, and best practices related to energy performance and building sustainability.
    • Conduct site visits to verify and collect accurate data on building dimensions, materials, and services.
    • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals to ensure compliance with energy efficiency requirements.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing assessment findings, including energy ratings, potential savings, and suggested improvements.
    • Maintain accurate and organized records of assessments, EPCs, and related documentation.

    Requirements:

    • Relevant qualifications in building services, energy assessment, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a SAP Assessor or similar role, with a strong understanding of SAP methodology and EPC production.
    • Familiarity with building regulations, energy efficiency standards (e.g., Part L in the UK), and sustainability practices.
    • Proficiency in SAP software and other relevant tools used for energy assessment and EPC generation.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and calculate energy performance ratings accurately.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively explain energy efficiency concepts to clients and stakeholders.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and compliant EPCs and reports.
    • Knowledge of residential building systems, including heating, ventilation, insulation, and renewable energy technologies.
    • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
    • Professionalism and integrity when dealing with clients, maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
